i have a linksys router that keeps quiting

Specs: Windows 7, 2.4ghz/4gb

my router has worked great for a couple yrs. now but since i got my new laptop it keeps dropping its signal. it will work for a couple min. after i reset it but then all my comp. and printer loose the network all the lights stay lit on router as if it is working but no network to b found try pluging into it and computer cant find router says its to old or it is not a linksys product. i have tryed erasing every comp. of anything linksys and starting over with it but nothing changed
do u think that it is shot and i need to trash it and get a new one.

You can try checking to see if there's a newer firmware for your router. If there is, apply it and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, great. If not, then I suspect you're right and should just replace the unit.
