CPU/Ram: 512

I have a pc with a athlon xp 2.6 with 512 mg ram ddr 333, hard disk of 80 gyga, sound blaster audigy and a video card geoforce FX 5200 with 128 mg ram. I use windows xp with sp1 upgrade. My problem is that i can surf the web perfect by IP but i can´t surf by DNS. Help? Thanks, Bkupfer

Well, in order to help we don't need to know how much horsepower or RAM you have on your display card. We _do_ need to know how you access the Internet!

It's a DNS issue, do a ipconfig /all from your "C:>ipconfig /all" [enter] look at you DNS info and make sure your ponited to the correct DNS IP addresses.

I access internet by cablemodem.
I tried the ipconfig commands but they are okey, including the pig ##### -t. Thanks Bkupfer

can you ping "c:>ping www.tv.com" what do you get? can you ping you DNS server?

Hi

If you are using a cable modem, you should select "obtain DNS server address automaticaly". It will fix the problem.

I'm not sure why you have 4 DNS servers, but the first two are not reachable, at least not right now. You should contact your ISP (Fibertel in Argentina, I think) and tell them about this. Or you could try the following.

Change the first DNS server to 200.49.156.4.
You do that in the Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections -> Local Area Network -> Properties -> TCP/IP. It might be blank (empty) now. If so, just put in that number - you can always change it back again if this doesn't work.

it is not a DNS issues if you can ping tv.com from the command prompt..
