i have cable internet with roadrunner and they gave me a toshiba pcx 1100u cable modem. And i tried to hook this up to my Linksys Etherfast Cable/Dsl Router and hooked it into the uplink jack on the router. And i cant get the internet to work but on only one pc at a time the other pc's hooked up to the router wich are running xp ,win 95 i cant get them to get an ip adress or internet conntection.I have also tried this on my friends three computers and it did the same thing and he had the same cable modem. Is this a problem with the router that i paid almost 200 dollars for or is it something that you have to do on the pc's or the toshiba cable modem? at one point it did work on a toshiba cable modem for two pc's but doesnt seem to route anymore can some1 please help me out here?

What settings did you do on the router? You might need to fill in some information in the Router setup like your computer name and user ID (192.168.1.1).
im not sure what you mean by router setup but i did do the windows networking setup if thats what you mean.I dont have ne software or manuals for the router though.

You paid almost $200 for the router but didn't get any manual? Go to the Linksys web site and download the manual.
Connect your modem to the router's WAN port NOT the uplink port. The linksys router's web based configuration is at 192.168.0.1 (or possibly 192.168.1.1). By default, the router should already have its DHCP server enabled so, configure each computer to receive its IP info via DHCP. If you don't know how to configure your computers for DHCP, let me know. If you still can't connect to the Internet, then you'll probably need to go into the routers config page(s) and enter your username and password to login to your ISP. Make sure that you disable ICF (Internet Connection Firewall) on the XP machine(s); the router has built-in firewall features.
