Comment: I have been having trouble on my computer for weeks now. I cant connect to https, yahoo, gmail, anything, no secure website. This happens in firefox and ie. I have run various scans and done what various websites tell me to do. Still no luck. Can someone help me? Thank you.

Reply: (edit)Try lowering your security settings under Internet Options. Larry Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.

Reply: (edit)I tried it, but still no luck. I think it might be some type of virus that does it, but my adware, spyware, and virus scanners havent found anything...

Reply: (edit)Go here and make sure the SSL boxes are checked. Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and scroll down to the Security section. Larry Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.

Reply: (edit)What he means is that service runs on a differnet port number. HTTP runs on port 80 and HTTPS runs on port 443. Make sure that you are forwarding port 443 through your router and allowing it in Windows Firewall. This would explain why none of your browsers can view any pages that run over HTTPS. Fed up with Windows? Try Ubuntu Linux

Reply: (edit)Try doing a repair on IE and make sure you have the 128 bit encryption model not the 64. Go to Help, About and see what version you have. If it's the 64 bit, you'll have to upgrade. Larry Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.
