I'm trying to host a game on diablo, but my friend cannot connect to me. I can connect to his computer this way, but I wanted to quest one of my characters, and I don't want to transfer characters between computers. If there are any ideas about the firewalls, I've tried as many things I could think of and anything would be helpful at this point. I even tried a private battle.net connection and he still couldn't join.

If you have a firewall, you have to forward the game port to the internal IP address of the PC hosting the game. I forget what the port number is but if you google "diablo 2 port number" I'm sure you'll find it.

Then, you start the game and call your friend and tell him to connect once you're running in "host mode".

Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this has been bugging me for the past 2 months. I tried to enter the battle.net port once, but I can't remember why it didn't work or why I stopped trying. just tested it out and it works!

PS: I'm so excited I had to go back and fix 8 or 9 grammer mistakes in this message, lol.
