can anyone help me.. i have a 2 desktop computer with a different windows.. windows xp proffesional and home edition.. i setup my linksys wireless router model wrt54g correctly and the linksys wireless wusbg to the other computer both of the computer are detecting the signal but theres a meesage "you are connected to the acces point but the internet cannot be found" anyone help me please!!

Have you plugged the modem through the WAN port of the WRT54G not the LAN port.
And have you configured the data you got from your ISP in the routers setup? Is it generally possible to connect to the internet with one of the pc's?

Hi,
What u need to do is uninstall the card from the device manager, restart your computer, you will get the welcome screen for your WUSB54G.Then put the CD to install the driver. It will take the drivers automatically.
Don't manually give your n/w name and the WEP encryption if you have any for your n/w while installing the card. Then go to view available wireless n/w and manually connect to your wireless n/w and make sure you give the correct WEP if you have any.

When you ran the setup menu for the router did it come back with an IP address and gateway IP Address? If all the lights are burning steadily but one (which should be blinking rapidly) it's connected to your ISP OK.
A straight-thru cable should connect your modem to the WAN port of your router. DHCP should be enabled on the router. All your clients should be set to "Assign IP Address Automatically" and "Use DHCP Server for WINS resolution". The clients' XP Firewalls should be disabled (the router's firewall takes care of this). You should be able to ping your NIC at 127.0.0.1, your router at its default address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1; check the manual), and your ISP at their gateway address. Check these out and get back.

i already setup the ip's for the router.. both of the wireless device are connecting... and if im trying hooked the straight-thru cable to the one of the port behind router and connect the ethernet port behind modem and router my wired pc cant connect to internet... im confusing if i need a internal modem and NIC to my other computer coz im newbie to this networking jobs... is it the wusbg and network interface card are de same? thanks

1. Modem must be pluuged to the connector at the
wall
2. Routers internet port must be plugged to the
ethernet port of your modem
3. in your routers setup configuration, you have to
configure your internet connection, IPS login
data and so on, so that the router can
authenticate to your provider
4. PC must be connected to the LAN (ethernet)
ports of the router or must be connected
wireless
5. you !!! must not !!! configure internet
connection at the local PC'sSo it looks looks like this(from pc to internet):
