okay i am trying to firgure out how to run networking from my home , so i could used the internet but one thing i don't understand how the hell you connect to the internet at home with networks card and other tools ? first all how those internet get access from? why you need to connect at some college or office? why isn't possible ro run network from home ? if you could what are the tools you need ? please don't tell me to get dsl or cable they both suck .. thank you for reading my message
If you are accessing the Internet via analog modem, it's really difficult to share that modem connection with another computer.
I don't think you can do this if you are running windows 98/Me so I would look around for a software program that was designed to share internet access.
You would need to install a network card in each computer, a hub and cabling to let your computers talk to each other.

Actually, you can use any Windows OS and share your internet connection with an analog (dial-up) line. You will first need to connect your computers. Each computer will need a network card which is connected to a hub via networking cable. once you have successfully connected the two systems simply download a proxy server from www.tucows.com and run it on the computer that is doing the dialing. this will allow you to share your internet access. Oh BTW, cable and dsl do not suck, they are quite good :-)
