Hi:
I want to know isnt most of the HP pavilion computers dont have network boot? I try around 4 different models of hp pavilion desktop. They all have network boot in the boot priority, but none of them are able to do the network boot. The models that i have tested: pavilion 7950, a1550, a1400e

I am sure that my server's RIS is working because i have been using it for booting the winxp os.

So i wonder isnt most pavilion models dont include network boot because the pavilion is designed for home users?

Network boot is a component of two things at a basic level. One is having the setting in the BIOS.

The second, and most important, is that the NIC card itself be network bootable. Some cards, like 3COM, have a spare spot on the NIC card for seperate chip to enable this function.

Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.
