how to use windows me with a westell modem-router

Specs: Windows Vista
I have a network with xp and vista and want to add my computer with windows me. The network worked well with my linskys router but the modem went out and- frontier net came and put in a westell 7500 which is a router modem not supporting windows me. Can this be fixed. I'm handicapped and computer illetriate so i'm llost. Any help appreciated

Thanks fo the reply and info. I am having no luck getting the network to work so I will junk the one with ME on it. Frontier help and support said that the new router modem is digital and wont work with ME.

There is no reason why any Operating System, be it Windows 98/XP/2000/7/8. Linux or Mac will not work with any broadband Router/Modem.

All you need to ensure is that your computer has a working Netwrok Interface card which uses Ethernet which they all do. All you need to is plug it in and configure your netwrok Interface card to get IP address automatically. That is assuming your router is set up for DHCP

Ethernet is not OS dependant. I suspect that as Windows Me is an old and obsolete version of Windows, the Help line your contacted didn't know and couldn't be bothered finding out..
