As far as I knew, you could not share AOL connection past the 5.0 versions. I tried with 6.0 and could not do it. Now I believe they are at 8.0. Maybe you can though, but AOL makes it really hard.
As I was browsing my routers (linksys.com) website today, I noticed that the latest firmware update for the router, included the ability to allow sharing of AOL internet connection. If you have a network, you could consider adding a router with this capability. Otherwise, I do not know how to share AOL for newer versions of it.
Maybe somebody else could add to my advice.

I know how to do it.

You will need to go through a proxy server, I have AOL version 7 on an XP box that shares it's connection.

Install the proxy server on the server with the modem then on the client boxes goto Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN settings, Tick use a proxy server and enter the box with the modem's IP address in and for the port put 4480. If you want to use applications that require a SOCKS connection put the servers IP again this time with the port 1080. MSN messenger will need to use SOCKS 4 if you use that program. For more information read the help file.

Ben Rogers,
you are a hero - this has been my biggest pain since I moved to AOL 7 (funnilly in the past I used an old p2 running W98 - at a struggle - purely as a router and didn't have this problem). Still can't get MS messenger to work with the port u recommend, but who cares!
