How to setup my broadband internet

right my problem is i've got 2 network cards and the computers are set up and the networks working fine but i want to setup my NTL Broadband internet properly. i mean i want to only give a certain amount of bandwidth to 1 of the computers & the hosting computer gets the most bandwidth. i want to know how to do this so i can get the most bandwidth. eg:- i have a 600k connection and i want to have 550k and the other PC gets only 50k. IS THIS POSSIBLE I HAVE HEARD IT IS???? i will be greatful for any help

I've personally never heard of a way to do that without pretty costly software, but you might be able to set up one pc for a higher priority somewhere in your router's configuration which will give the pc with the highest priority the most bandwidth when simotaneously trying to download.

To apportion bandwidth you will need either an expensive router like CISCO or a LINUX computer set up as a router with software to implement QOS (quality of service).
