Subject: How to restrict user's access to we
OS: Windows 2003 Server
CPU/Ram: 1 GB DDR2
Model/Manufacturer: Compaq Presario
Comment:
Our network administrator quitted last friday, and now I don't know (and of course would like to know) how to accomplish these three tasks:

1.- How can I have a user limited to one workstation at a time, because I've found several machines open with the same user's account.

2.- How can I restrict the webpages any user can visit? I tried with Internet Options-Content-etc, but this only lets me do it individually n one machine at a time. Maybe Group Policies?

3.- How can I have just some selected users running MSN Messenger?

Thanks in advance.

The last two could be completed using a decent firewall with Websense integration. Would run about 2500-3000+. It works really well and is easy to manage.

I can't get my mail, is the server down?

No, the power is out.

Just set company policy and have supervisors do their job might be the proper way.

I would never allow company computer on the internet. I would however put a few old junkie computers out there for anyone to do what they want with. Happy people are productive people. Creative people are difficult to keep under constant control.

I'd hate to see someone get fired because they are smart enough to bypass every security measure. You'd be suprised how easy it is to bypass a lot of controls.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
