Comment:

Our wireless laptops(XP) used a shared printer on a Window2000 desktop. Occassionally, the laptops is unable to connect to the printer (probably due to weak wireless signal). Is there a way to re-connect to the printer without re-booting the laptops ?

Yes. You could write a batch file and place a shortcut on your desktop to run it. For example:

net{space}use{space}lpt1:{space}\\2000ComputerName\SharedPrinterName

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon X2 4800+
2GB RAM, X1900GT
2x37GB WD Raptors, RAID 1
1x250GB WD Storage

Might consider putting the host and ip information in a hosts file that is copied to all machines. This will take care of name resolution but won't fix the weak wireless signal

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.
