Can you tell me how to prevent users in my domain from installing programs that they downloaded from the internet?????
By using local security policy or group policy or what? how can I do that please??
Can you tell me in detail??

If it's a 2000 domain, then you can use a GPO linked to the domain. If it's an NT domain, then you'll have to use the policy editor to create a policy that you can then apply in the normal fashion.

Most corporate firewalls has option to prevent any download of file with extension: exe,scr,pif,vbs,... You should also set your mail server to remove such attachment.

From where exactly in the Group Policy? because I search for an option in GP and I cant find this one ......can you tell me please?
(note: I'm using windows 2000 server and clients use windows 2000 Pro)
