Comment: After formatting my computer to remove the sasser worm only to find I still had it (buts that’s another issue)I eventually was able to remove it. However, since then I am not able to share files across my network between my PC and wireless Laptop both running XP. I'm not very confident with networks at the best of times. Can anyone give me an idiots guide to sharing files please? Many thanks Paul.

Reply: (edit)I should also add that I own a "Linksys Broadband Router 2.4Ghz 54g" and that both my Laptop and PC have internet access but I can't get XP to see the other computer to share files in "My Network Places" anymore despite trying! I have "Norton Internet Security" installed now but doubt that thats a problem?

Reply: (edit)To share files you need to turn off the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall on both machines. Norton Internet Security is a problem. You need to add the 192.168.1.0 network to your trusted networks or it will firewall all your file sharing. You will also have to initially share at least one folder on both computers for file sharing to be turned on. -DF ABIT NF7-S v2.0 2500+@2200Mhz(11x200) 512MB HyperX(2-2-2-11)
