Is it possible to map straight to a sub folder of a shared drive

i.e.

//server/Shared_folder/Wanted_mapped_folder/

As the standard map guide within microsoft wont allow it and as far as I have experimented the net se command wont break it down that far.

you will have to go to the folder itself and share it before you can map to it. I.E. You can't share the windows folder and then map straight to the system32 folder. You have to share the system32 folder itself.

Another way to accomplish it (which may be more to your liking) is to use the SUBST (substitute) command. It will allow you make virtual drives out of networked mapped drives. For instance, say you have your f: drive mapped to \\fileserver\login. You can substitute a drive to subdirectories within that mapped drive. So:
Subst g: f:\public\bin
will make drive g: point to \\fileserver\login\public\bin . Hope this helps!
