I want to make my wireless router into a switch since I have a regular Linksys router that works. I heard that disabling the DHCP on the router would do this trick; is this true? I don't want to have to buy another switch. Thanks in advance...

Depends on the brand of router. With the LinkSys routers, you have to disable DHCP, Block Wan Request, MTU settings, all port forwarding settings, DMZ, and change the Dynamic Routing - Working Mode from Gateway to Router.
Check the routers web site support pages for details and help.
