How do I set up a network so that I can share files, folders and other stuff. I am using Windows XP Home Edition. I have tried many times to set up a network, but it usually says that the other pc is not acessable, I do not have "rights" and stuff like that. Any help would be helpful.

xp home is longwinded but it is possible.u need 2 ethernet cards and some crossover cable.use the windows simplified file sharer in XP.it does the file shariing for you automatically.unless you upgrade to XP pro and turn off simplified file sharing

basically run the network setup wizard on the first pc (the "server"). At the end of the wizard choose to copy setup onto a floppy. Take this floppy to the other PC and run the disk on that one. Go to "My Network Places" and view workgroup computers. You have to share out the folders you want by right clicking on the folder go to Sharing and click the box to share.
