|Without any information on the situation it is not possible to provide meaningful answer. 250 metres distance means little without details. Is this in an urban or rural environment? Are there any buildings in line of sight? Is it private or public land between the two points? What kind of budget? Is there a phone/internet connection available at the PC? |
Fiber-optic cable with appropriate nodes at each end would be one cabling option since CAT5 or CAT6 cable is limited to 100 metres, unless you can install powered boosters along the way. Either way would be expensive and only practical if you have right of access to run the cable.
Wireless using directional antennas might be an answer but again the topography and regulations governing transmitter power may preclude this. If internet is available at both ends then VPN might be your answer and speaking to your ISP/phone company would be a good place to start.
There is no "one-size-fits-all" answer and on the info you have given any answer is a guess.
