how to get win2k to talk to win95

Specs: win2k SP4, PII / 256 MB
I'm trying to connect a win2k SP4 pc to an NC controller running win95 4.00.950 B. this version of win95 is pre-usb. the floppy drive is no longer recognized for reason's i haven't been able to figure out so i can't load drivers from a disc. i've been trying to use direct connect but no luck there yet. does anybody know the parameters rquired to make these two OS's talk to each other?

Floppy drives were never very robust. I would try replacing the drive and see if that doesn't fix it so you can load drivers from a floppy disk.

All that's required for the two PC's to communicate is a network connection. If both have working NIC's then you can directly connect them using a crossover cable. Or, you could plug both into a switch using regular patch cables.

It goes without saying the TCP/IP settings on both have to be correctly configured to be in the same subnet with the same subnet mask.
