Hi,
i have a "problem" with a VPN connection. I know that when i make a VPN connection, all other network connection drop out. I have noticed that if i have admin-rights, that does not happen. Is it possible to make a connection with normal user rights and still keep other connections. That would be great because the VPN is needed only to check some data from a server and after the connection all my terminal windows, email and active web content (applets and so) are disconnected.Does this have something to do with the rights to write to windows route tables? I know the routes the VPN-connection writes there, but how can i change the security-settings so, that a normal user could write route table changes also?

Is this an integrated Windows PPTP VPN Connection? If so, check the Advanced TCP/IP Properties of the connection to make sure that "Use default gateway on remote network" is NOT selected. If it is, uncheck the box and try again.

Sorry for not answering, but i was on vacation and did not want to think this matter :) I tried to do that what SmittyZ3M suggested, but the connection doesn't seem to be a standard windows vpn-connection.
The VPN-connection is in "network connections" and is under a topic "connection manager" or something like that (mu computers language is not english, so i have to guess). Name of the device is "Wan Miniport (L2TP)". Name of the connection is "FastAccess VPN VHS CompanyName".
Is there something i could do? How to make it work with normal users as well?
