how to delete contact in hotmail

April 14, 2012 at 06:59:37
Specs: Windows 7
This refers to the list which comes up when I am sending an outgoing Hotmail e-mail, when I click on "To" or "Cc:" or "Bcc" There are contacts which have become obsolete. Some have changed their e-mail addresses, and the old and new addresses remain. There are a few with whom I no longer intend to communicate. There are contacts appearing twice on the list, with identical information. My own name and e-mail address appear twice on my list. How can I remove this unwanted information? (I have no idea what the categories and subcategories mean, so please accept my guess.)

Go to Hotmail >> Click the link Contacts (located in the left bottom) >> Click the contact you desire to remove >> Click on the Delete button located in the middle of the screen.

Hope this helps.

Your advice got rid of one of the duplicated items. There still remains a duplicate which I cannot delete from the "people" list, which appears when I click on the "To:" or the "Cc:" or "Bcc:" at the time I am sending or forwarding an e-mail. Part of my problem is solved, and I thank you kindly for that.

I am pretty sure that using the advice above you can delete contacts from the list so they no longer appear in the "people" list. It works for me so I can`t see a reason why it wouldn't for you.

Hope some other user can instruct you from this point.
