Hello everybody
Wondering if someone can help me. I am thinking of turning my old PC into a web server, and i know that it is possible to this with XP Professional.
However, this is all i know. I was wondering if anybody had done this and was able to give me some advice on how to set one up, what to look out for, what not to do, and anything else i should know.

as long as the old comp can handle win xp pro it should be fine :) the IIS that comes with xp pro is restricted to one web application, but this wont affect you unless you plan to use it comercially.
all you have to do is insert the xp pro cd and select install optional windows componants. This will open the windows setup program, if u scroll down a short way then IIS should be there :)
and thats all there is too it, of course now u have to secure it if your gonna put it on the net. Just do a search on google for setting up IIS :) its pretty simple to set it up, it takes about 5 mins to show some1 in person but I dont have time to write it all out now.
