Hi
I have recently purchased an ACER laptop with built in wireless.
I currently use my desktop to connect to the Internet, through a Speedtouch modem, broadband, plugged in via USB and then wires to the adsl filter.
I now want to connect both wirelessly. Please may I ask for a little advice on what I need; I'm guessing the Speedtouch USB modem will become obselete?
Many many thanks in advance.
Jonathan

Plan A:
Find a wireless router with USB and Ethernet connections for the internet.
Plan B:
Get a DSL modem with ethernet instead of USB, and then get any wireless router.

Thanks for your prompt reply! Great!
I'm guessing then the wireless router does not need a modem built-in? Both desktop and laptop will rely on the modem from the laptop, making the speedtouch obselete?
Sorry for being a little thick :-)

Modem modulates the DSL signal into Ethernet. The router then allows the connection to go to multiple computers via Network Address Translation.
ADSL Modem -> Router Wan Port -> Router LAN port (or Wireless Access Point in the case of your wireless computer(s)) -> Client machines.

No problem!
