Solved how to connect surveillance cameras to internet thru my DVR

Specs: Windows 7, 3.2 gig
I have installed 8 cameras that go to my 8 camera DVR. I have a 4 channel router that goes to my Comcast cable modem. I would like to view my cameras from anywhere that I can get on a computer. I have the DVD that came with my DVR and I don't know much about doing this kind of work. What do I have to do to view my cameras from any computer? My DVR is HS8308 8 channel Pentaplex H.264 DVR w/500GB HDD & DVD-RW What do I have to do to make this happen?

How do you access the dvr now?

Usually you set the dvr to a static ip in your lan
you port forward the port or ports it needs in the router to that ip address
before leaving the house you go to and get your current public wan ip address
to access remotely you put in that ipaddress:port number.

My system comes with cms lite software which has the ip and port number entries as well as the dvr password field.

I am not good at this type of a situation. I access my DVR thru my mouse to play back the events or use time to view back at stored info. Don't know if this is what you are asking or not. Until last night I didn't have my DVr connected to my router. I just connected the Rj-45 cable to router and DVR. Didn't do anything else. A DVD did come with the DVR, but I haven't looked at it yet. I can put it into my computer and run it if you think that this will help! Here are pictures of my system.
My computer is beside of my camera system. I will have to get someone to set this up for me. Thanks for your info. Any other help you can give me, I will appreciate it. I also have another camera system at my retirement home and soon will set this one up also. You can see my other camera system by going to my picasa web albums.
I will print out your info and try to do it. Not sure about the IP address. I know the 192. ip address. Thanks for your help! Pete
