Can anyone please tell me how to connect 3 pc's without using hub? I know that it is easier using hub or switch but I am asking this question just to learn. I have heard that I have to make one pc as a bridge to the 2. But I have no idea how to make that bridge. Can anyone help please?

Didier

install two nic's into one of the pc's. Highlight both nics in "network connections", right-click, and select "bridge connections".

you'll need to start ICS on the first pc, and the bridge pc.

however, having them all see each other might be complicated. You'll have two networks, and you'll have to figure out how to make the two networks work together

If you want to keep one as the server...
Cable to server
server to switch
switch to other computers with a straight thru Cat5e.

Comp to Comp. needs a crossed cable.

Forget about bridging, it seems this is a new windows feature ;-)

If you use new NICs you can connect them by using 4 of them.
One computer will have 2 NICs and acts as a software router....

If you use old NICs (10 Mbit with coax cable) you can even connect them with 3 NICs...

Another way to network 3 pc's thats pretty simple is if one of the pc's has 2 firwire ports and the other two have at least one you can "daisy chain" network them and have a transfer rate of 400mbs!!
