My Clothing Store connectivity issues.

Need help on setting up my Store with two computers.

Both computers are identical :
Inter Pentium II
Cpu 320mhz
128 KB ram
20G HD
Internet connection.

I put one computer in the back and one in the front. This is what I'd like to setup.

The computer in the back has the ADSl line connected
The once in the front doesn't.
However I have a cable that is connected
from the back of my front computer network card which is currently plug into the back computer on a network card.

The back computer has another network card which is used for my ADSL connection

I want to be able to transfer info and data from back to front computer. I was told I'll need a HUB or router and maybe cable to connect my from computer to the hub in the back.

I'm confused a little and need some help to get my computers to be sharing one IP address.

So in general : two computers sharing one IP address and able to transfer data from one another. When updating the back computer it automatically updates the front.

What will I need to purchase and how can I setup so the process works.

thanks everyone !!
I need to do this for my store to run if at home as well.
The computer in the back is like the inventory whnere my merchadise comes from the back and is transfer to the front.

Hope I make myself clear .. Sorry ...

If the cable from the front system is a "cross over" cable, then you can enable the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) software and both share the IP connection and share files between the two systems. On the Back system, check in Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup tab, Communications line, Details button, and make sure the ICS option is checked. Then setup the ICS under Start - Programs - Communications - ICS on the Back system. For the Front system to access the Internet through the Back system, the Back system has to be on and running the ICS software.

A second way of doing this, is to buy a router (under $50) and place between the Back system and the ASDL modem. Then plug the Front system into the router also. Then either system can access the Internet directly and you can still share files between the two. You only need one Network Interface on the back system this way.

get a wireless router that connects to the adsl. Connect both directly to the router using regular patch cables. Much easier to setup and you can also share between computers. This configuration also provides some protection from hacking which ics direct doesn't.

And now to the easy way!
(english is not my native language so I'm not totally sure about the button and command name in english. They maybe a bit different!)

Computer with internet connection:
- Go to the "control pannel" -> "Network"
- Activate the file and printer sharing
- Scroll down to the TCP/IP protocol of the network card that's connected to the other computer
- Set the IP Address to 192.168.0.1 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0

Computer without internet:
- Do the same as above but the IP is 192.168.0.2, subnet as above
- click on GATEWAY and enter 192.168.0.1 and press the add button

You can't give the same IP to two computers in one network because the IP tells the system which computer it works with. You just have to use different numbers at the end.
With the GATEWAY setting you tell the computer that it gets the internet connection from the other computer!

I use the same settings on my own 2 computers and it works even with different windows versions!
