hi ,
can anyone help me i want to connect 2nd pc which is approx. 300mtr. away from switch/hub .
how can i connect them?
which type of cable i use?
can i use cat-7 cable it works or not?thanks

You might run into some problems trying to run utp cable 300 meters to a hub or switch. I am certain that UTP cable is limited to 100 meters. Anything greater than that will cause you problems.

If you can put the switch half the distance to the next computer you'll be able to boost the signal to make it the 300m

By rule of thumb "uneak" is correct. You are limited to 100 meters. 150 meters or more is just to great a distance.
I'm also surpised you are talking about Cat 7. How in the world did u get a hold of that, and not to be funny but what in the world are u doing with it without knowing cabling? Cat 7 is not standard stuff. Your talking about cabling up in the several Gigabit range. To date I don't know of any switch at the "connecting 2 PC" level that would even claim to be able to handle Cat 7, not to mention not a NIC in exsistence (at least not for 2 PCs). At best, and I'm talking still high end stuff Cat 5e, or Cat 6, and even those require switches, and NICs that have 1 Gig capacity. Most likely you are wanting a Cat 5 or below. If not, please leave me your name and number I have some "swamp land" I mean "beach front property" I want to sell you. Just teasing.

You have several options.
The best option would me to use sa fibre connection. here in the UK you can buy a pre-terminated length that makes it easier to install. You will then need two meadia converters, that will change fibre to 100baseT
The others involve using thicknet cable, again with media converters or a suitable hub with a coax connection. Splitting up the 300m with hub or switches is the worst option. It will make things messy and remember that you can only have 4 hubs/switches per 1 network segmant.
I would go out and look at the options for fibre. That way you get a good, reliable connection which is not suseptable to noise caused by other electromagnetic devices.
