I would like to know how to bypass the firewall in the router so that other machine can access the computer and printer behind the router?
The setting:
1. Cable Modem to Hub (provides 2 IP address)
2. One computer connect to Hub (use one IP address)
3. Router connect to Hub (use another IP)
4. Three computers connect to router
5. Printer connect to the printer port in routerThe computer connected to hub cannot access the printer and computers behind the router.
What can i do??

I have a dlink DI-614+ router and by using the firewall settings page I am able to easily create a rule that will allow one, or many, PCs on the WAN side to access one, or all, PCs on the LAN side with or without port restrictions. You should be able to create a firewall rule that will do the same thing. Just create the rule to allow the IP of the one computer on the hub to access all IP addresses on the LAN and it should work. Only drawback is a security issue. If the PC on the hub has a dynamic IP address and it changes than someone else will have access to your LAN, if they are looking for an easy access that is.

I'm using DLink-704P router. i have difficulty of locating the similar page in the router setting. I totally understand what u mean.

After browsing through the manuals I couldn't find the firewall settings page anywhere. But there may still be a way to do this. If you have revision B of the router, the one in the silver and grey case, revision A is in brown casing, then make sure that you have the latest firmware version. The latest firmware, v2.74, seems to add the ability to identify safe IPs for inbound traffic on the LAN. So if you can upgrade than check through the settings again. If this won't work, or you have revision A, than you may be out of luck for this router.
One other thing that just came to me. If you have no need for the second IP, or feel that you could do without it, than you could connect the one computer directly to the router and then set up the DMZ setting so that the one computer is available to anyone. This would be almost the same as having it hooked up to the hub except that it would use the same IP as the router.
