Comment:

I have an employee that wastes a lot of time each day surfing non-work related sites. She needs access to the internet, but only to 5-10 sites to do her job.
I looked into NetNanny and other software, but that seems like it is meant for parents to keep their kids off porn sites. I don't think that's pertinent to me, because the sites being visited by her won't be flagged as 'bad'. Can anyone suggest a program that will allow access to sites I choose, then block all else?

Why not just tell the employee outright that you are very unpleased with her use of the company time and computer.....

There is a very easy way if she is logged in a regular user. If you log in on her account and go to the internet options > connection tab > down to lan settings > check, "Use a proxy server for your LAN", put 127.0.0.1 in the box. Check "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" if need be. Press the advanced button, go to the box at the bottom "Do not use the proxy server for address beginning with", enter the sites that she needs to access. Press ok > ok > ok, then try to access the sites she needs, make sure it works right. All other pages should get the "Page can't be displayed" sign. Then log in as admin and go to gpedit and disable connection page.

thanks for the help. The second suggestion worked (the content advisor). I didn't try the third suggestion (using 127.0.0.1) because the computer needing censorship has a shared printer, and other shared documents. I didn't want to chance screwing that up (I don't know if that would have happened, but since I found a way to do it, I didn't want to be adventurous!)
Thanks for all replies, you really helped me.
