Hello,

Here is my situation:
I have a Barricade Router SMC 7004ABR to share the internet connection (cable), and I have 3 other computers connecting to the router. Each of the computer itself has a personal web server running. I have no problem viewing the web pages hosting at each of the computer by using the URL as: http://192.168.2.90/ etc. And the IP for the router is: 24.77.xxx.xxx

My question is:
How can I view the webpages from outside, that is from computers not connecting to the router?

Thank you very much for your help and happy holiday!

Regards!
Jimmy

I don't have experiences with barracuda routers, but you have to check out the user's manual: whether this router supporting the port-forwarding. If so, you can forward the 80 tcp port from the real-ip of your router to any pc in your LAN.
Good luck.

Hello Jimmy:

Open the browser interface on the router (192.168.123.254, enter your password and then click on Virtual Server, as this is where port forwarding is accomplished.

Enter the port number and the subnet dotted quad of the webserver in question (ie. 192.x.x.x) Then check the "enable" box and scroll down to the bottom of the page to save the changes.

Hope you have considered the security issues involved. Seems to me youu might be better off hosting all 3 webservers on one PC and use DMZ--which is available on the Barricade.

Happy Holidays!

I have not done it yet with my system at home but the port forwarding is what needs to happen. But I think it can only be forwarded to ONE machine. : ( jer...
