very basic question, ive got a small home network with a small adsl wireless modem router, i hooked up an IP camera to it and i managed to get it to work, i gave it a fixed IP address.

now of course i need to know how to access this from the outside world

can someone pls give me the simple steps to fix this issue here.
i read its about making a change in the router with port forwarding or something but i cant get my head around it.

much appreciated.

You would first determine what port or ports needed to access the ip camera
They you would go to and readup on how to port forward and test port forwarding.
You would forward those port(s) to the ip address of the ip camera.

Alternately you would setup RDP on your desktop and port forward 3389 to the static ip of your pc. Then you would connect to the desktop to view the camera.
