You will need to provide a whole lot more info if you really want an answer.
Open a port on what - firewall, linux box - what make, model, etc.? For what service - Telnet, FTP, SSH, HTTP?

It sounds like you want to forward a port through your firewall to play an online game. Is this accurate?
If so, you'll need to know which port(s) you want to open (the gaming company can tell you this), then you'll need to look at the documentation for your router.
