Specs: Windows 7
We have a commercial printer installed in the office with fax capability. Our network uses VOIP and we want to connect the fax. I was told a simple adapter with some sort of small box would do the trick, however I can't seem to locate this particular adapter. Our office has 5 static IP addresses and our VOIP provider has 20 phone lines configured in our office though he states he does not support faxing. At one point we thought incorporating a MAGIC-JACK into the network might solve the problem but they are desined for USB onnecting to the internet

✔ Best Answer
A fax connection needs to run on what is know as a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line. It won't work on a VOIP connection as that is digital and fax is analog.

It does look like there might be adapters out there, a Google search turned up this

Your VOIP provider should come up with a solution and the needed configuration.
