how do we connect 2pcs,using one dialup
connection?one pc,is windows xp,the other is a
vista.please advise us asap!

You need to connect the two PCs using a crossover cable and then enable ICS in the host machine. That's the one with the dialup modem connection.
XP has a walkthrough in it's Help & Support menu

we have a crossover connected,my pc,the one with xp,is the
host pc,his pc,is the client.everything worked good,then he
wiped my pc,reinstalled xp,and now,we can not get the two pcs
to share one connection.the only other way we are doing it,is by
a proxy server.which in some places,im not allowed to have
that.can anyone here,tell me,whats the possible reason or
reasons,why we now,cant hook both pcs to share one dialup
connection?!im at a loss,as what could be it.i need help please!

Run ipconfig /all
in both the host and client machines and post back the results.Goin' Fishin' (Some day)
