How do recover data from old c: when using a

Specs: Windows Vista
I am trying to recover data from a failed laptop using a usb sata caddy. It brings up one of the drives from the laptop fine but i think it is not bringing up the old c: because the current pc already has a drive mapped to c: how can i get around this?

It should show it as another drive letter. The usual would be D: unless already have another D:

Once you have it plugged in and you're booted up open windows explorer or My Computer and look for an additional drive. If it's there you can then copy files from the old drive to the one in the computer you're connected the drive to.
