|Does your current router not provide wifi connection; and if so is it enabled? That is one way to have an internet connection a reasonable distance away from the router itself.|
Are you familiar with the "Homeplug" system? This is series of modules which plug into power outlets. Connect a cat-5/ethernet cable from one of the router ethernet ports to a module plugged into a nearby power outlet. Plug another module near (next?) to where you like the internet to be - and connect that to your computer with another cat-5/ethernet cable.
Job done... No need of a second router - unless special circumstances demand it.
Depending where you are in the world depends which 'Homeplug" modules are available...; there are several brands around these days.
