How do i run my laptop through my PC?

Specs: Windows Vista

Hi,

I have recently cracked the screen on my laptop and need to connect it to my PC to move my files.I need to do this with least amount of cost. Does anyone know how to do this?

Does your laptop have a VGA connector, for an external monitor? If so, you can just plug in a monitor and use it normally.

The problem is normally you can't access it remotely unless you had enabled it before.

They make cheap ide to usb adapters that should work. They are sometimes called something like usb enclosure for laptop drives. They do have limits on current unless powered.

If the two machines are networked, you can setup Remote Desktop and get it working without having to actually view the screen to set up Remote Desktop on the laptop. There are Registry entries you can change...

Are the two machines networked?
