I am trying to figure out how to network a mac and a pac at home. I don't need file sharing, I just need to be able to connect to the internet through the same cable modem. The mac has it's own IP address, while the pc doesn't. I have a linksys cable/dsl router/switch. Thanks!
I don't know, but you can look here: http://www.homepcnetwork.com/pcmacp1ovr.htm

I would just use the same concept as everyone else. Get a hub with an "uplink" port, plug the cable modem into the uplink, then plug the PC and Mac into seperate ports. You may need to contact your ISP to obtain a second IP address for the MAC. This would be the easiest way if you don't want file sharing. If you DO want file sharing, you'll have to get a program like DAVE or install a Win 2K Server with services for Macintosh installed. If you want more info, email me.
