How can I make sure I'm not being hacked by a jerk neighbor?
Until recently his D-Link repeaters IP addresses showed up on my T Mobile tethered connection.
Would appreciate any help.

"T Mobile tethered connection."

It is not easy to hack a Cell Phone signal but if he does some how spoof your SIM card so that he could get to your computer through the cell phone then you can setup a software firewall to block him. Try Zone Alarm or one of the free ones. Also, I think SIM spoofing is illegal. Just file a Police Report if you suspect him of this and they will investigate your phone.

"Tethering also turns your phone into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing you to share your Web connection with those around you."

from http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/addons...

Does not sound like your neighbor is doing anything wrong when his equipment tried connecting to your wifi hotspot. If anything your neighbor might have seen this as a compromize of his network which is why its not happening now.

It would not be the same if you saw his laptop connected.

Your antivirus, antimalware checkers should have root kit and trojan detectors.
Your software firewall should be notifing you of any outgoing or incoming issues it sees as supicious.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Oh, sorry when I think of tethering I think of using the USB cable not the WiFi because of what Wanderer said, I never use the WiFi. Tether through the USB.
