Comment:

If a ip address (192.168.0.1)is already assigned to a D-link network card, then i install another type of realtec network card using the same IP. Message will pop up saying the 192.168.0.1 is already assigned in other card and is now hidden....

So how can i delete the previous settings from XP?

thanks

you don't delete it, you just change it. Make one 192.168.0.1 and the other 192.168.0.2.

Go Network Connections and right click on the appropriate connection, select Properties. Highlight TCP/IP and click Properties.
