The type and speed of the connection is going to depend a lot on how busy you expect this server to get.
The busier you expect the server to get (ie: the more traffice it will have to support) the more bandwidth you'll want.
I'd start with looking at highspeed connections (ie: ADSL/Cable) before looking into a T1 or T3.
Once you've got a good idea how much bandwidth you're going to need, most likley it will be your budget which is the deciding factor into what type of connection.
You're definately going to want this connection to not be shared with your office's internet connectivity though.
