Host/Client PC's on Broadband

Comment:
I have a network of 2 PC's with broadband internet. The host is a dual boot ME/XP Pro and the client is running XP Home. They're networked and sharing files, folders, printers OK but I can only get online via the host PC, not the client.
I've checked all the TCP/IP stuff and it's all OK but can someone please tell me (in plain English please!) what I'm doing wrong and how I can get both online at the same time?
I'm using a Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem (from ntl) if that's any help.

The "host?"
Are you by any chance trying to run ICS through one computer? If so, you do not need to do this.
Another thing to check is in Internet Explorer, go to Tools> Internet Options>Connections and make sure that you have NO check marks in the Automatically Detect Proxies page.
Close Internet Explorer, re-open and try to go to a web page.

Save yourself a lot of headaches and get a router to put behind your broadband modem . Then you just plug the pcs into that and don't have to worry about ICS and whether the one computer ison or not .
