could you please let me know how can i host my domain with my own computer from my house. I have DSL high speed internet with our cable company(gogeco (canada, Ontario)). Is that possible. I have my own domain name which is registered under my name (www.lovefort.ca). Instead hosting with any other company i want to host from my house PC. I need help how could i do that.

It's possible. What you will want to do I'm thinking is contact your ISP and get a static IP address. I'm not familiar with your ISP as I live in Sk...but I do know our providers (shaw cable and Sasktel) both offer static IP's at a higher cost than the normal DHCP assigned.
Once you have a static IP, all you have to do is create your domain and/or web site and link it to that IP address.
NOTE: If you're not creating a web site, the above is all moot as you don't need any assigned IP for your domain. In fact, in industry most all companies use the private IP addresses from either Class A, B or C for their internal networks. The only reason you would require a static IP address on the web is if you want to have an presence on the web (ie: a web site).
If you are planning on hosting your own web site, you will definately want it separate from your internal network for security reasons. You will still want to run your internal network on private IP addresses.

Also, if you have Windows NT or 2000 you can manage the web site through IIS (Internet Information Server). This is a web server utility found on the NT and 2000 disks which allow you to allocate bandwidth to your site, host multiple sites on one address, ftp, etc. It is located in the Windows NT option pack.
