I currently have a cox cable modem. I would like to buy another cable modem because I am having problems with my wireless router. Can I use a cable splitter (like the ones for T.V.'s) & hook up the other modem? Will this be a problem?

You can't hookup two modems to a single cable line.
cox also has to "provision" the modem so it works on their system.

You don't replace the modem if you are having problems with the router. You replace the router.

Exactly what problems are you having with the router?
