I am unable to map the network drives on my network. I have one desktop with XP home and a laptop with Vista home premium. They both indicate that they are connected to my D-Link router “N” and the signal is excellent. I can access the Internet with both but when I try to map the drives (C:\ and D:\) to access files from one to another I get this message. From the XP desktop “No network is available”. From the laptop “Check the spelling of the name, otherwise might be a problem with the network”. I have configure all drives to be shared. The network authentication in both is WPA2-PSK and data encryption is AES. Password in both is the same. What I do wrong?

Would you be able to ping each other? If not, then check for the firewalls and disable it (the firewall will need to be configured to allow file sharing also later).. Then try again..

Try to type \\<computer-IP-with-shared-drive> on browser and press Enter, see whether you can access..

Ensure your Vista computer is connected to private network, and file sharing and network discovery is enabled.

Do the same accounts exist on both machines?
