Hi,
I want to build a small home wireless network which consist of one desktop with no wi-fi capability. and a laptop with wi-fi.
All I want is to connect to interent using my desktop through dialup and share this connection with the laptop. I bought a wireless access point with is a router too. It has 4 ethernet ports and one WAN port which I think is not needed in my case since I have a dialup.

my question is, can I have the above network setup using the router as a hub so the desktop can allow laptop to use the dialup connection?

Thanks,
NahhaB

Yes, that will work, but do you have an ethernet card for the desktop too?

You will need an ethernet card in the desktop

Attatch the WAN port of the router to the desktop ethernet card, and enable microsoft Internet connection sharing on your dialup connection
Connect to the router from the laptop and follow the router instructions for setting up internet access and wireless.

I'm doing a school project where i'm trying to have a centralized connectivity from one central office to hare with four workstations in four other states with 30 PC's in one office 25 in another and 25 in the last and 70 laptops in the other state.
How many servers will I need to accomplish this task.
