mylee maybe u should enlighten him how do it maybe??

To have your 2nd computer print all you need to do is share your printer on your xp machine

On your xp machine Go to Start> Control Panel> Printer and Faxes

Right click your printer and go to sharing

Click Shared As... and the type in the name of what ever you want

then what you would do is go to ur 2nd computer. go to My network places. go to your xp machine computer and double click on the printer. after its all set up it will automatically default that printer too it

Make sure your 2 computers are in the same workgroup name (ie like mshome) or what ever name u want it)

Make sure your xp machine doesn have IEEE 802.1x authentication on
Right click My network places> properties> right click local area connection> properties> Authentication (tab)> make sure Enable Network Access control Using IEEE 802.1x is NOT selected

there you go!

May not be that easy... If you have the CD for either one, you'd probably be better off with both computers using the same version of Windows. My cousin has set up several networks, and getting XP and 2000 to cooperate together is always quite hard to do. If you have the XP cd, and it's the "Home" version, you can install it on more than one computer. My cousin and his sister both have used the same XP Home cd for their computers.

You better not let Microsoft hear that. Did you activate them both over the internet or what cause unless you bought a volume lisence, then you are supposed to buy a seperate lisence for each copy.

Sometimes if you have a administrator on each computer you may have to set up a user account to access the printer.

I had to troubleshoot a printer sharing problem before between xp and 2k this being 2k sharing the printer. I just setup a user account with the same name and password of the xp computer on the 2k computer and it would finaly share the printer. Might not be a problem your having but alot of xp and 2k networking problems lie in user names and passwords or no guest accounts setup on them.
