Hi,
I have just purchased a sitecom DC-202 router. I wanted to share my broadband connection between my PC and my xbox. After going through the installation book match for match it seems it cannot connect. when i do ipconfig it is showing that i have been assigned an IP address but i cannot load any webpage. I have done some research and found on some sites that Telewest Blueyonder broadband (now virgin media) have blocked all sitecom routers. I then went to sitecoms website which says under the frequesntly asked questions that i need to register the MAC address with Telewest. Can anyone please inform me if this should work or anything else that i could try?
Q I have Telewest/NTL Internet connected to my router and can no longer get Internet access, but it works fine when I connect my modem/set top box directly to the computer?
A Please disconnect the power from the modem/set top box and leave it switched off for around 4 hours. Also if it has a reset switch then please reset it. After this time, connect it back to the routers WAN port and then run the setup wizard in the configuration pages again, and the modem/set top box should issue a new IP address to the router.
(I don't think this is the most-likely cause)

A Make sure your computer is connected to the router. Open your web browser and type http://192.168.0.1. This will open the web configuration pages of the router. Go to Advanced and select the MAC address tab. Register this MAC address with Telewest.
----> To register with Telewest, call them and give them the MAC address.
See if you ISP and the devices you have allow your router to connect. In some ISP's you can have the soho router hold your connection settings and simply when any device (be it windows or other OS or play device) the router connects and shares the wan.
See both the documentation and your ISP's help pages. Many ISP's refuse to tell you. They just want you to run a CD.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
