Hi,

I got this wired problem. My home network has 3 pcs connected with UTP. I use a 5 port mini switch. Recently, I am experiencing some wired behaviour from my system which is beyond my understanding, who is ofcourse not a network master! So, I might need some help of some experts..:)

K,first off the very first problem, if I gets it fixed, I may not any additional help.

When I ping one pc from the other with IP, it gives me a msg "request timed out". My two net cards are aparently okay, for they give responses when I ping from the pcs themselves. What I mean is, when i ping 192.168.0.1 [which is da ip of my serve] from my server, i get reply and same thing with when I ping 192.168.0.2 [my pc] from my pc- i get reply.

Doesn't it indicate that my net cards are okay? Why dont I get any reply when I ping one from the other?

Just a quick quesion, When do you get "Timed Request Out" and when "Destination Host Unreachable" Message?

Thx.

you might have a firewall running , that is filtering out ICMP packets. turn off all your firewalls and then try pinging again.
